The St. Mary Parish Sales & Use Tax Department is hosting the 49th Annual LATA Conference in The Big Easy! It is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8th through Friday, December 11, 2015. We are hosting the conference at The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel, 130 Roosevelt Way, New Orleans, LA 70112. The rates are $169.00 with a $30 parking fee at the hotel.

The conference agenda begins with a four man golf scramble to be played at The Audubon Golf Course, www.auduboninstitute.com/golf , Gambit’s Best of New Orleans 2015 ranked #1 course in the city. CNN listed it in their 11 of the World’s Top City Golf Courses. The golf tournament is sponsored by JPI Data Resources.

After our Wednesday committee meetings, a welcome social will be held in the Conti Room at The Roosevelt from 5-9 p.m. After the clock strikes 9, you will be free to explore the abundant Big Easy night life. If you don’t wish to leave the hotel, the Sazerac Bar downstairs is an excellent place to gather for a nightcap.

On Thursday our day will begin with informative administrator’s and auditor’s chat rooms, workshops and board meeting as well as the business and industry roundtable. General session follows for the afternoon with dynamic speakers such as Representative Julie Stokes, N.O. Port Director Gary LaGrange and St. Charles Assessor Tab Troxler.

A hard day’s work deserves a little fun. Dinner and entertainment will take place in the Ballroom. Shortly after dinner, we will hold the installation of officers and back by popular demand, Todd Adams, Pat O’Brian style piano bar. Grab a hurricane, join in and sing along.

After Friday morning breakfast in The Blue Room, the general sessions continue with the ever popular Fox and Hound, other speakers TBD and concluding with State Treasurer John Kennedy.
